Aquatic Operations Manager Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Aquatic Operations Manager to lead our swim programs and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our members. The successful candidate will have a strong background in lifeguarding, swim instruction, and pool operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement swim programs for children and adults
  • Supervise and train lifeguards and swim instructors
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA safety policies and procedures
  • Manage pool operations, including maintenance and repairs
  • Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency response plans
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless member experience
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to member concerns

Requirements:

  • Minimum age 18
  • Current lifeguard and swim instructor certifications
  • At least one year of experience in swim instruction and lifeguarding
  • Ability to pass lifeguard water test
  • Ability to remain alert and sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate verbally and project voice across distance
  • Ability to lift equipment and small children (50 pounds)
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills

Working Conditions:

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent interactions with members, staff, and volunteers. The successful candidate must be able to work irregular hours and be flexible in their schedule.
