Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Technician 3 to join our team at the University of Miami UHealth/SoLé Mia. As a Biomedical Technician 3, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks, including the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of complex biomedical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of biomedical equipment, including installation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians and subordinate staff within the department.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair, including services provided by outside vendors.
  • Stay up-to-date with pertinent regulatory agencies and policies, codes, standards, and regulations that apply to clinical equipment.
  • Inspect incoming equipment for compliance with codes, standards, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to engineering and clinical staff on the operation and maintenance of clinical equipment.
  • Use office automation hardware and software, as well as diagnostic service software, to perform tasks.
  • Update the medical equipment technical library as new versions become available.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures, and safeguard University assets.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
    • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
    • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
    • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
    • Commitment to the University's core values.
    • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
