Job Summary

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Engineering Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our biomedical engineering department, you will be responsible for the acquisition, design, teaching, implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and improvement of medical equipment at the University of Miami Health System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations within the service areas, ensuring that work performed meets or exceeds established regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Ensure the equipment and maintenance database is accurate, up-to-date, and data is entered in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical training to other employees and customer personnel in equipment operation and checkout, repairs, preventative maintenance, quality assurance practices, procedures, and documentation.
  • Develop, monitor, and controls budgets to assure the most cost-effective and efficient operation.
  • Collaborate with other support entities (e.g., IT or Facilities) to develop support plans for devices or systems that require multi-disciplinary support.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions
