Job Overview

Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Vice President of Specialty Operations, the Clinical Operations Pharmacy Supervisor will oversee all clinical operational functions and personnel within the specialty pharmacy. This role involves supporting both operational and clinical pharmacist responsibilities, developing clinical program initiatives, and mentoring clinical staff to fulfill client needs while ensuring adherence to specialty pharmacy accreditations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Possess the expertise to perform both operational and clinical tasks assigned to pharmacists.
  • Administer and supervise the onboarding, training, and development of clinical personnel.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to clinical team members to promote accountability and engagement.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, especially during peak operational periods.
  • Assist in maintaining pharmacy accreditations and compliance.
  • Support both operational and clinical pharmacists as needed.
  • Address and resolve clinical inquiries and issues from clients and management.
  • Lead clinical operations by utilizing analytics and reporting to showcase value to clients.
  • Design, monitor, and execute clinical operations and compliance initiatives.
  • Facilitate effective communication with departments outside the pharmacy.
  • Oversee task assignments within clinical operations to ensure quality and service standards are met.
  • Exhibit critical thinking by identifying exceptions and facilitating resolutions.
  • Manage vacation requests, timecard approvals, and performance evaluations for clinical team members.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
  • Active and clear Pharmacy license.
  • Ability to obtain licensure in multiple states as necessary.
  • Preferred certification as a Specialty Pharmacist (CSP).
  • Experience in specialty pharmacy is advantageous.
  • Prior experience with reporting is preferred.

  • Familiarity with pharmacy reporting software.
  • Proficient in standard office equipment operations.
  • Capable of creating and delivering presentations on clinical programs to leadership and clients.
