Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Operations Supervisor

Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Vice President of Specialty Operations, the Pharmacy Supervisor for Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing all clinical operational activities within the specialty pharmacy sector. This role involves supporting both operational and clinical pharmacist functions, developing clinical program initiatives, and mentoring clinical staff to fulfill client needs while ensuring adherence to specialty pharmacy accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Possess the expertise to perform both operational and clinical tasks assigned to pharmacists.
- Administer the onboarding, training, and development processes for clinical personnel.
- Provide ongoing feedback to clinical team members to ensure accountability and engagement.
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, particularly during peak operational periods.
- Assist in maintaining pharmacy accreditations and compliance.
- Support operational and clinical pharmacists as needed.
- Address and resolve clinical inquiries and issues from clients and management.
- Lead clinical operations utilizing analytics and reporting to showcase value to clients.
- Design, monitor, and execute clinical operations and compliance initiatives.
- Effectively communicate with departments beyond the pharmacy.
- Oversee task assignments within clinical operations to ensure quality and service standards are met.
- Exhibit critical thinking by identifying issues and facilitating resolutions.
- Manage vacation requests, timecard approvals, and performance evaluations for clinical team members.
- Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
- Active and clear license to practice pharmacy.
- Ability to obtain licensure in multiple states as necessary.
- Specialty pharmacist certification (CSP) is advantageous.
- Prior experience in specialty pharmacy is preferred.
- Experience with reporting is beneficial.

- Familiarity with pharmacy reporting software applications.
- Knowledge of email, fax, and standard office equipment.
- Capable of creating and delivering presentations on clinical programs to leadership and clients.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This role is situated in a standard office environment, necessitating prolonged periods of sitting and standing in front of a computer. Additionally, the position requires manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate standard office equipment, including computers and telephones.
