Position Overview:

Johns Hopkins Medical Management Corporation is seeking a dedicated Patient Service Coordinator to join our dynamic team. As a vital part of our organization, you will play a key role in ensuring that every patient receives exceptional service and support throughout their healthcare journey.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Weekend rotations may be required

Compensation: $21 - $22 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all administrative (non-clinical) tasks related to patient interactions, ensuring a seamless experience for each individual.
  • Provide friendly and professional assistance to patients, contributing to a positive atmosphere at our facility.
  • Accurately input scheduling details into our computer systems in a timely manner, adhering to departmental protocols.
  • Effectively coordinate patient appointments across various departments, following established guidelines.
  • Promptly fill appointment vacancies due to cancellations with new bookings as per departmental standards.
  • Assign patient history numbers accurately at check-in to streamline the registration process.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation, such as laboratory requisitions and encounter forms, is correctly labeled with patient information.
  • Conduct pre-appointment interviews with patients and/or their families via phone to gather essential information.
  • Greet patients and their families upon arrival, verifying and collecting complete registration details.
  • Clearly explain procedures to new patients, ensuring they understand what to expect.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in using multi-line telephones, computers, copiers, calculators, fax machines, and various software systems related to scheduling, registration, and billing.
  • Familiarity with business, insurance, and medical terminology is essential.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is required.
