Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for overseeing all organizational activities related to annual operating and capital budgets, financial forecasting, the multi-year capital plan, and internal financial reporting and analysis processes. This role will provide actionable business insights to the Executive Team and Board of Trustees based on factual and data-driven analysis, both internal and external, that guide the strategic financial direction of the organization.

  • Provide thought leadership and implement best practices for financial management across the organization.
  • Conduct management reporting and financial analysis for all markets and segments, including the development of Management, Discussion & Analysis (quarterly and annually).
  • Oversee all aspects of administrative expense management.
  • Collaborate with Actuarial, Strategy, and Performance Management teams in developing forecasts, budgets, and multi-year financial plans.
  • Conduct company-wide and industry expense benchmarking, including basic economic forecasting.
  • Coordinate with Senior Management to communicate the drivers of financial results and related performance improvement initiatives.

This pivotal role interacts routinely with executive and senior management to discuss budgetary and other financial implications of operational matters. The SVP of Financial Planning & Analysis will also drive organizational development, fostering a high-performing team throughout the organization. This position will enhance processes that provide leaders and stakeholders with clear visibility into their financial performance, enabling informed decision-making to support the success of their business or function. It is essential to ensure that solutions and improvements deliver optimal customer experiences while aligning with strategic goals and objectives.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible finance experience, preferably in managed care or health care.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a Senior Leadership role.
  • Strong preference for extensive experience in forecasting, transformation, strategic planning, and financial modeling.
  • Preferred experience in a large, multi-market, multi-product health insurance organization, including Medicaid financial management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate financial and operational data into actionable insights and business implications.
