Geotechnical Engineering Manager

Location: Richmond, VA

LVI Associates is in search of a skilled and versatile Geotechnical Engineering Manager to enhance our Power Generation Geotechnical Engineering Division. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in nurturing client and business relationships, supervising team management, and providing your expertise in civil and geotechnical engineering across a variety of multi-disciplinary design and construction initiatives.

Your responsibilities will encompass project planning, design, engineering, and geotechnical services tailored for Energy, Institutional, Industrial, and Manufacturing sectors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients in the Energy, Institutional, Industrial, and Manufacturing sectors, as well as collaborating with internal teams across the organization.
  • Leading business development initiatives, including developing project proposals and managing budgets and timelines.
  • Promoting the diverse range of services offered by the organization.
  • Collaborating on the formulation and execution of strategic business plans.
  • Serving as the primary contact for business activities within the Power Generation Business Sector and Geotechnical Division across the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Overseeing project management to ensure timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with quality and safety standards, including managing multiple projects concurrently and closely monitoring project costs and billing in partnership with the Accounting team.
  • Providing guidance and oversight for geotechnical elements of various design and construction projects.
  • Supporting and mentoring members of the geotechnical team.
  • Leading teams to successfully accomplish assigned projects.
  • Working with the Accounting team to monitor and manage project costs and billing to achieve profit objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
  • Professional Engineering license or eligibility to obtain within 6 months
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Capacity to work independently and efficiently
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to delivering quality work
