Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor of Education to lead our Education team in Enhanced Family Foster Care. The successful candidate will oversee the academic needs of children and adolescents in foster care, ensuring they receive the support and resources necessary to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide weekly supervision and team meetings for supervisees and direct reports.
  • Recruit, hire, and evaluate team members.
  • Participate in all trainings, workshops, and learning collaboratives related to DOE, Education Collaboratives with AFC, ACS, and Fair Futures.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Efficiently communicate with program staff to promote a cohesive and collaborative environment.
  • Collect and analyze data to support private funding and collaboration with agency grant writers.
  • Assist specialists in locating community resources for referrals of services to participants.
  • Ensure record keeping meets all Administration for Children Services (ACS) standards.
  • Regularly review and optimize usage of data for case practice.
  • Collaborate with the supervisory team to implement and communicate program policy and procedures.
  • Participate in internal clinical and planning meetings.
  • Represent Good Shepherd Services at community meetings.
  • Promote and model the seven Sanctuary Model commitments to create a non-violent and trauma-sensitive culture.
  • Integrate the Sanctuary Model SELF framework into daily practice.
  • Review documentation in Connections, SharePoint, and Care4.
Requirements
  • Masters of Social Work or Master's Degree in a related field required.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in child welfare required.
  • Some supervisory or group work experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of adolescent development.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills necessary.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Commitment to work from a strength-based, family, and youth development perspective.
