A minimum of six months of experience utilizing automated payroll and financial management systems, such as Payroll Human Resource Statewide Technology System (PHRST) and First State Financial System (FSF), for data entry, updates, modifications, deletions, retrievals, and reporting.Key Responsibilities
The following are essential functions that are fundamental to all positions within this classification. Conducts thorough reviews and analyses of financial transactions and records to ensure accuracy, while monitoring compliance with agency budgets, relevant agreements, grants, contracts, and applicable state or federal regulations. Analyzes, reconciles, and consolidates data from journals, records, and documents into the general ledger; performs trial balances and implements necessary corrections, updates, and adjustments to maintain balanced funds and an audit trail. Reviews financial transactions, classifications, and codes for accuracy, providing recommendations for necessary changes. Maintains robust internal controls while applying accounting principles, practices, and standards. Offers expert advice and technical guidance on matters related to assigned fiscal functions. Compiles, analyzes, and prepares a variety of financial statements and reports that reflect the financial health of the organization, aiding in financial, budgetary, and personnel planning. Conducts research and provides data, reports, and documentation to state, federal, and independent auditors, as well as fulfilling other requests for financial information. Utilizes commercial and proprietary automated information systems and software to research, review, evaluate, and report on financial data. Delivers exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, whether in person, electronically, or through written communication. Effectively communicates and interacts with individuals from diverse backgrounds, abilities, genders, ethnicities, ages, and races. May oversee purchasing, disbursement, and inventory management of equipment and supplies.Job Requirements
Requirements for Senior Fiscal ConsultantApplicants must demonstrate competence in the following areas: A minimum of two years of experience in compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data to ensure effective and efficient fund accounting or to facilitate financial planning projections. At least two years of experience ensuring compliance of financial transactions with budgets, relevant agreements, grants, contracts, and applicable state or federal regulations. Six months of experience in analyzing financial issues, developing alternatives, and advising management on potential solutions. Relevant coursework, training, and/or work experience in staff supervision, which may include leading and overseeing the work of others.
