Job Summary

Williamson Medical Center is seeking a skilled Clinical Nursing Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide clinical nursing support to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate clinical information to patients and businesses
  • Schedule tests and consultations
  • Obtain clinical specimens
  • Assess patients
  • Perform clinical office procedures
  • Maintain adequate clinical supplies

Requirements

  • Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
  • Licensed by the State of Tennessee
  • One year of experience in a medical office environment

Skills and Qualifications

  • Competent in the use of medical equipment, including Glucometer, BP cuff, thermometer, computer, autoclave, stethoscope, audioscope, and business phone
  • Ability to sit, stand, communicate, and lift over 20 pounds

Performance Standards

  • Accurately record patient's medical history and vital signs
  • Give patients immunizations and injections as appropriate
  • Counsel patients on health-related issues
  • Order and maintain clinical supplies and pharmaceuticals
  • Coordinate referrals to other medical services
  • Secure consultations and specialists
  • Triage phone calls and address patient portal messages
  • Obtain prior authorization for medications and diagnostic testing
  • Maintain quality assurance for office lab
  • Assist physician with office/surgical procedures
  • Observe universal precautions
  • Observe proper lifting techniques to prevent injury
  • Coordinate with pharmacies to ensure patients have adequate supplies of medicine
