Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Adult Basic Education Teacher to join our team at the Department of Corrections. As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality instruction and support to individuals in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement competency-based curricula to meet the assessed individual academic needs of our students.
  • Facilitate and manage classrooms, providing instruction and guidance to students.
  • Perform assessments and report on student progress, monitoring and managing student behavior as needed.
  • Collaborate with other program areas as an inter-disciplinary team member to ensure comprehensive support for our students.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education or Special Education.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education in English, Math, Reading, Science, or Social Studies.
  • Bachelor's Degree with a major or minor in English, Math, Reading, Science, or Social Studies.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 15 combined semester credits in English, Math, Reading, Science, or Social Studies.

Applicants must also upload their Bachelor's Degree transcripts with their application or provide a copy of an active Teaching License issued by the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
