Position Overview

Location: Pen Argyl, PA

Compensation: $20.67/hr plus a $2.00/hr shift differential, totaling $22.67/hr

Work Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, 5:30 PM - 5:30 AM

Role Responsibilities:

The Loader and Material Handling Specialist will be tasked with ensuring the availability of aggregate materials for the production team. This role requires proficiency in operating industrial forklifts and loaders, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key Duties:

  • Operate front-end loaders to sustain aggregate supply for production.
  • Analyze production orders to ascertain material requirements for daily operations.
  • Ensure a sufficient supply of materials and coordinate orders with suppliers as necessary.
  • Utilize yard forklifts, front-end loaders, and man lifts for loading and unloading tasks.
  • Collaborate with shift supervisors and plant management regarding material needs for production.
  • Conduct inspections of materials at the end of each shift to guarantee cleanliness and adequacy for the next shift.
  • Operate conveyor systems to facilitate the movement and loading of materials and equipment.
  • Manage the logistics of incoming and outgoing supplies at the yard.
  • Maintain inventory in a clean and functional state.
  • Monitor supply levels and replenish as required.
  • Perform minor equipment repairs and escalate issues to maintenance to prevent production interruptions.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to management.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and workspaces organized and safe.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment as per training guidelines.
  • Follow established policies and procedures with a focus on safety.
  • Undertake additional related tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in operating industrial forklifts and loaders.
  • Relevant industry and machine experience is advantageous.
  • Capable of performing basic mathematical operations related to currency, weight, volume, and distance.
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities to effectively manage challenges.

Educational Background and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar capacity.
  • Experience specific to the position is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
  • Adaptability, organizational skills, and professionalism.

Physical Demands:

Employees must frequently lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds. They must be able to closely inspect materials and products, identify color variations, and work in confined spaces. Regular tasks include remaining stationary or moving throughout the work area, ascending and descending steps and ladders, and reaching with hands and arms.
