Automotive Accounting Specialist
The successful candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of daily dealership financial operations, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, finance reserves, deal postings, rebates and incentives, cash receipts, inventory acquisitions, and floorplan reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record wholesale and retail vehicle sales transactions
- Process daily banking items related to contract fundings and other electronic funds transfers as required
- Conduct daily bank reconciliations
- Manage daily floorplan payoffs and floor vehicle adjustments as needed
- Perform monthly reconciliations of the floorplan account
- Support inter-company accounts receivable reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Assist in the generation of regularly scheduled financial reports
- Prepare and reconcile expense reports
- Maintain confidentiality regarding work-related information and materials
- Engage in additional projects and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements – Accounting Specialist:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a dealership environment across various accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, deal postings, inventory management, floorplan, and finance reserves
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Exhibits exceptional multitasking and organizational capabilities with a strong focus on detail and quality
- Demonstrates effective time management and follow-through skills, capable of handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Possesses a high degree of reliability, professionalism, confidentiality, and courtesy
- Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective listening abilities
- Displays a mature and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work extended hours during month-end close if necessary
- Utilizes problem-solving skills and previous experience to navigate workplace challenges, innovate processes, and define outcomes
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and be a current resident.
