Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proficient Healthcare Support Specialist to become a vital part of our medical team. The successful candidate should possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in the healthcare sector and be prepared to commute as necessary. In this role, you will collaborate closely with medical professionals to deliver both clinical and administrative assistance. Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate patient care by preparing examination areas, sterilizing medical instruments, and ensuring the availability of essential supplies.
  • Welcome and prepare patients for their appointments, measure vital signs, document medical histories, and accurately update patient records.
  • Guide patients to examination rooms, clarify procedures or treatments, and ensure their comfort and understanding throughout their visit.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tests, including specimen collection and processing, phlebotomy, and EKGs.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as instructed by healthcare professionals while maintaining precise records of medication inventory.
  • Assist in minor surgical procedures by preparing instruments, providing support during procedures, and caring for post-operative wounds.
  • Perform essential administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, answering inquiries, and managing patient documentation.
  • Work in conjunction with the front desk team to ensure smooth patient flow, accurate registration, and timely follow-up.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and shared spaces, adhering to infection control standards.
  • Support inventory management of medical supplies and equipment, restocking as necessary, and identifying shortages.
  • Comply with privacy and security regulations when handling patient information, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
  • Stay informed about medical procedures, protocols, and regulations to provide accurate support to patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Healthcare Support Specialist in a medical environment.
  • Bilingual skills in languages other than English are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in patient documentation and clinical tasks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities, characterized by a friendly and compassionate demeanor.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable performing patient care tasks, including vital signs assessment, specimen collection, and medication administration.
  • Knowledgeable in medical terminology, procedures, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
