Role Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician I operates under the direct oversight of licensed pharmacists, delivering essential pharmacy services and support to the pharmacy division. This role involves a significant level of assistance in the distribution, dispensing, and preparation of non-sterile medications, ensuring compliance with all relevant accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support medication distribution systems, including automated dispensing units and emergency supply kits.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new pharmacy technicians and students.
  • Perform data entry for prescriptions in the pharmacy management system as needed.
  • Process medication charges and credits when necessary.
  • Prepare, fill, receive, deliver, stock, and replenish medication inventory and supplies for the pharmacy department.
  • Repackage bulk medications as required.
  • Prepare non-sterile compounded medications, including hazardous substances, and participate in advanced training as appropriate.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned to support pharmacy operations within the technician's scope of practice.
  • Provide customer service and assist with patient inquiries, including managing phone calls and medication histories.

Educational and Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) and Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL).

Working Conditions:
