Dickerson Insurance Services, an Alera Group Company is currently seeking a New Case Advocate for Employee Benefits to enhance their Employee Benefits division.

As a New Case Advocate for Employee Benefits, your primary responsibility will involve the assessment and finalization of applications for group medical plans marketed to employers, both prior to and following submission to insurance carriers. You will collaborate closely with Account Executives, sales support teams, management, agents/brokers, and employer group representatives, as well as insurance company contacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and qualify all new small business applications for submission to major medical carriers.
  • Coordinate with in-house underwriting requirements alongside account executives, brokers, or groups.
  • Submit applications to carriers and ensure timely processing and approval.
  • Follow up with carriers to confirm case approvals or identify any additional requirements.
  • Disseminate Notice of Approval to account executives, brokers, and/or groups.
  • Provide assistance to account executives, brokers/agents, and sales managers as necessary.
  • Generate quotes within the carrier system and verify the accuracy of the rates sold.
  • Process and enter/upload groups using various proprietary systems from carriers.
  • Stay updated on current carrier promotions and inform account executives, brokers, and groups as needed.
  • Collaborate with account executives to present options and solutions for unique cases utilizing industry and carrier knowledge.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with carrier underwriters.
  • Prioritize urgent cases effectively and meet deadlines, particularly during peak periods.
  • Regularly review and ensure that the correct versions of applications and employer documents are stored in our system.
  • Analyze carrier audit reports to ensure future submissions meet clean and complete requirements.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Small Business Group Underwriting is preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and respond promptly to inquiries.
  • Collaborative mindset to facilitate group approvals and meet deadlines.
  • Competency in managing multiple projects is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong prioritization abilities.
  • Proficient in internet research as some cases require extensive online investigation.
