Compensation Overview:

The salary range for this position reflects a national market range and encompasses a variety of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary will be influenced by several factors, including the complexity and scope of the role, as well as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience. Our comprehensive compensation and benefits program also includes eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range:

$57,000 - $94,600.00

Position Overview:

The accounting team at Travelers plays a crucial role in managing our financial information and ensuring compliance with both internal policies and external regulations. The team provides transparency regarding the company's financial health by delivering timely, accurate, and actionable information to stakeholders.

As an Accountant, your responsibilities will include maintaining precise financial records for reporting to both internal and external parties while upholding a robust control environment. This position will specifically support the Personal Insurance Finance sector within the accounting and controls unit.

Key Responsibilities:

- Compile and assess financial data for accuracy and reporting.
- Prepare, analyze, and assist in the development of financial/business plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Generate components for internal management-based financial reporting, ensuring consistency with corporate policies and standards.
- Prepare, analyze, and finalize components of external financial statements, including GAAP, SEC, and STAT.
- Conduct analysis and control of state-mandated accounting.
- Manage financial controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent professional designations (e.g., CPA, CMA).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient analytical skills to gather and interpret data effectively.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Problem-solving skills to recommend process improvements.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Financial Reporting Software (e.g., TM1, Essbase, Hyperion).
