Role Summary:

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing warehouse activities during the second shift, ensuring that all operations commence and conclude punctually. This role involves guiding team members in understanding their daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities. Key responsibilities include mentoring staff, performance management, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to communicate daily tasks and expectations to all team members, ensuring that both daily and functional area goals are met.
  • Assist in enhancing warehouse efficiency by developing and implementing clear written procedures for all functions, while coaching employees to meet performance benchmarks.
  • Address performance challenges within the assigned shift, maintain a secure work environment, and ensure compliance with all operational regulations.
  • Coordinate with planning, production, quality assurance, and sales teams to achieve production and shipping objectives, responding promptly to all inquiries.
  • Support the Warehouse Manager in maintaining the warehouse's physical condition through layout planning, equipment inspections, and managing repair requests.
  • Help manage inventory levels by participating in daily cycle counts and leading the annual physical inventory reconciliation with the ERP system.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation policies to support management and audit requests, facilitating effective communication with both internal and external customers.
  • Oversee warehouse security measures to protect operations and inventory.
  • Stay informed about federal, state, and local regulations related to warehousing and shipping, ensuring compliance and advising management on necessary actions.
  • Act as a role model for employees, fostering an inclusive and safe workplace culture.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management, and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Collaborate with other Shift Leads and the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to promote a positive work atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehousing within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Relevant educational background in supply chain, business, or operations is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and experience with ERP systems for data analysis.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for mentoring and managing employee relations.
  • Proven ability to identify and lead improvement initiatives while managing daily operations.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within various teams.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with other departments and resolve customer issues.
  • Experience with logistics companies and freight forwarders is advantageous.

Working Environment:

  • Exposure to both indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures, both cold and hot.

Physical Demands:

  • Medium physical work requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
