Job Summary

Transformation Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Aide to join our team. As a Residential Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with substance use disorders and mental illness in a peer-run supportive living home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a sober living environment and promote recovery skills while demonstrating a caring and compassionate attitude.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation services as needed, consulting with supervisors and house managers.
  • Establish trusting relationships with clients, modeling awareness and behavior necessary for growth and development.
  • Report to work on time and maintain regular attendance.
  • Train and monitor residents in independent skills such as laundry and bed making.
  • Encourage residents in daily self-care practices and supervise attendance at scheduled daily programs.
  • Accompany residents on shopping trips and counsel them on purchases.
  • Work with residents to achieve formal and informal goals, such as using public transportation and managing finances.
  • Document and review residents' daily progress, needs, medical issues, and behaviors.
  • Report any safety hazards to supervisory personnel or maintenance staff.
  • Attend required training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Transport or assist residents with transportation to appointments and activities.
Requirements
  • 21 years or older.
  • Good communication and de-escalation skills.
  • 1-year experience working with SUD/MH clients (preferred).
  • Valid Maryland Driver's License with two points or less.
  • Knowledge of sober living and recovery skills, empowerment of clients, and a caring attitude.
  • 1 year of sobriety.
Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in an office environment with continuous contact with staff and the public. May expose the incumbent to contagious or infectious diseases and potentially dangerous situations.
