Overview

As an Air Traffic Control Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the management of a terminal facility, ensuring the effective planning and execution of all operational activities.

This position is available exclusively to permanent employees of the FAA.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a skilled team of professionals, including integrated operational and support staff, delivering air traffic control services across a designated area. Your leadership will directly influence the safe, orderly, and efficient movement of aircraft and the broader aviation sector.

Continuously assess and enhance operational processes to ensure alignment with the agency's mission and customer expectations, maximizing the value of facility services.

Provide mentorship, training, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative environment.

Organize and prioritize tasks for your team, manage leave requests, and create work schedules. Evaluate team performance to ensure fairness in standards and ratings, while addressing work-related issues and grievances.

The Air Traffic Control Operations Supervisor will report to a General Manager or Assistant General Manager.

Qualifications

Conditions of Employment
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after December 31, 1959.
  • Submission of an SF50 is necessary.
  • Security Requirement: Moderate Risk Sensitive (5). A background investigation is required prior to appointment.
Experience Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate specialized experience, defined as follows:

1) At least one year (52 weeks) in an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or higher position at a regional or headquarters level.

OR

2) One year (52 weeks) of facility rating or area certification at an ATS facility.

OR

3) One year (52 weeks) in a MSS position at an ATS facility, including at least one year in an MSS-3 or MSS-4 role or FAA 2152 FG-14 or higher.

Note: There are no restrictions on applications for MSS vacancies at facilities with three or fewer MSS levels.

Qualifications must be fulfilled by the closing date of this announcement.
