Position Overview: As a Senior Electrical Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and development of electrical systems within various industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and create Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, and Wiring Diagrams.
  • Manage resources effectively and plan project timelines.
  • Ensure quality control of all deliverables related to electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and clients, while coordinating with other project disciplines.
  • Prepare specifications, data sheets, purchase requisitions, and bid evaluations for electrical equipment including drives, switchgear, and transformers.

Vendor Management: Review vendor documentation and assist in preparing cost estimates for power systems, defining scopes of work for project designs and study proposals.

Relationship Building: Foster strong internal and external relationships with key suppliers, customers, and service providers.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, technologists, and designers to deliver comprehensive electrical designs and documentation for a variety of projects.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • 10 to 25 years of experience in designing power systems for heavy industrial applications.
  • Experience in power design for facilities such as power plants, pulp and paper mills, chemical plants, and cement plants is preferred.
  • Previous consulting engineering experience in North America is essential.
  • Proficient in developing electrical designs, calculations, and bills of materials.
  • Familiarity with electrical system design, system studies, relay coordination, and protection & control.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations in North American electrical power and process industries.

Personal Attributes: You should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and have excellent interpersonal abilities to work effectively in a team environment. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines is crucial. Good organizational skills and a willingness to travel up to 25% are also required.
