Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Associate Director of Electrical Engineering to join our team. This position will provide technical and design services in support of electrical design projects, producing construction drawings and specifications for our clients.

The successful candidate will assist the Director of Electrical Engineering and have the potential to be elevated to the Director of Electrical Engineering in the near future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design effort on large and small projects
  • Manage design schedules and design team members
  • Interact and work directly with Architects and Owners
  • Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to assigned projects
  • Mentor senior and junior-level staff
  • Prepare various written reports and meeting minutes
  • Produce and lead the creation of design documents (drawings and specifications)
  • Travel for projects nationally and internationally
  • Provide Quality Control (QC) to assure adherence to applicable codes, company standards, and project requirements
  • Serve as a technical consultant concerning planning, design, and construction for different categories of facilities
  • Assist in the determination of departmental resources and long-term planning
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities
  • Serve as the individual in responsible charge of projects (DOR)
Requirements
  • BS in Electrical Engineering with PE Registration and the ability to be licensed by comity in other states
  • 15 plus years of experience in Electrical Design, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, coordination/arc flash studies
  • Extensive knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Strong knowledge of Building Codes, Applicable NFPA Codes, and Energy Codes
  • Experience in Federal/Municipal Government, Healthcare, or Aviation is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
  • Ability to work as part of a team and balance multiple projects
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to complete work assignments
  • US Citizen with a valid driver's license
  • LEED AP certification is preferred
