Desktop Support Specialist

Happy Returns is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our employees, ensuring the smooth operation of our desktop systems, and collaborating with our IT team to identify and implement process improvements.
Responsibilities:- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems for desktops, laptops, label printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- Provide technical support to end-users by resolving hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
- Provide tier 1 network support and troubleshooting.
- Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
- Assist in the deployment and maintenance of network printers and other peripheral devices.
- Develop a deep understanding of our internal applications and participate in feature changes, escalations, and testing.
- Collaborate with the IT team to identify and implement process improvements and system upgrades.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies.
- Document and update IT procedures and troubleshooting guides.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to IT security and data protection.
- Proven experience as an IT Desktop Support Technician or similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with network protocols and configurations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other common business applications.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- A customer-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to providing exceptional service.
- IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar IT support role.
