Our facility in Wakefield, Nebraska, recognized as the Baseball Capital of Nebraska, has been a cornerstone of our egg-processing operations since its inception in 1950. This site is dedicated to raising chickens and producing liquid egg products for our processing facilities.

Position Summary:

The role entails ensuring compliance with safety regulations at all times and promoting safety as a fundamental value. You will oversee all policies and procedures related to Food Safety & Quality, aiming to minimize product and process variability. This position involves managing daily farm operations, supervising staff, and ensuring adherence to animal husbandry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  2. Participate in Safety & Risk Management Processes.
  3. Conduct safety audits, inspections, and scans.
  4. Maintain overall safety for employees.
  5. Follow safe work practices, uphold GMP standards, and maintain sanitary conditions while ensuring product quality.
  6. Produce high-quality products at optimal costs while adhering to manufacturing practices.
  7. Identify and address operational issues to minimize disruptions.
  8. Coordinate with maintenance and other personnel to achieve production and safety goals.
  9. Foster collaboration across departments to ensure smooth operations.
  10. Manage feed usage and departmental expenses.
  11. Maintain accurate records, including payroll and operating budgets.
  12. Enforce company policies consistently and fairly.
  13. Encourage employee suggestions for improving production and safety.
  14. Delegate tasks to team members and hold them accountable.
  15. Manage inventory and order necessary parts.
  16. Travel to various locations as required.
  17. Adhere to all guidelines concerning animal care.
  18. Keep management informed about operational, quality, safety, or employee issues.
  19. Maintain consistent communication with the Production Manager.
  20. Conduct regular departmental meetings.

Qualifications:

Education:

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals. Proficient in writing reports and communicating effectively with groups.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform calculations related to discounts, interest, and ratios.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid driver's license.

Other Skills:

  • Ability to train and motivate team members.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP).
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
