Location Overview:
Our facility is one of the largest production sites within the organization, capable of producing a wide range of egg products, including liquid, dried, and hardboiled options.
Position Summary:
The Lead Supervisor is accountable for collaborating with the department manager. This role involves training both new and existing staff, ensuring a safe working environment, and delegating tasks to team members. The Lead Supervisor must adhere to safety protocols, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), maintain cleanliness, and guarantee product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in training processing and production staff within the assigned department.
2. Support the supervisor in updating training for current employees when equipment changes or new procedures are introduced.
3. Delegate work assignments to department personnel.
4. Participate in safety audits.
5. Help maintain control records related to processing activities.
6. Foster effective working relationships among department members and other areas.
7. Continuously monitor production lines for quality assurance and notify relevant personnel of any discrepancies.
8. Oversee processing equipment to ensure compliance with production standards.
9. Report maintenance issues affecting productivity, food safety, quality, and employee safety.
10. Encourage employee suggestions for enhancing productivity and quality.
11. Maintain accurate downtime records and daily shift reports for all equipment in the assigned area.
12. Complete daily paperwork, including SAP entries, as required.
13. Operate forklifts and pallet jacks as necessary.
14. Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
15. Uphold personal responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
16. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, integrating safety into all tasks.
17. Report any conditions or practices that may negatively impact food safety and quality.
18. Be available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
19. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards at all times.
20. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience operating forklifts and/or pallet jacks is preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is advantageous.
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.) are necessary.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills are essential.
- Capability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift and pallet jack license.
