Facility Overview:

Our Wakefield facility stands as one of the largest production sites within Michael Foods, functioning as a flexible plant capable of producing a wide array of products, from whole pasteurized eggs to liquid, dried, hardboiled eggs, and curds.

Position Summary:

This role requires adherence to safety protocols at all times and a commitment to promoting safety as a fundamental value. The individual will ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and practices related to food safety and quality, aiming to minimize product and process variability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts a thorough forklift checklist prior to commencing operations.
  • Immediately addresses maintenance issues and informs the supervisor of any major concerns.
  • Assists in preparing the processing area for operations.
  • Helps maintain proper egg rotation to ensure current inventory and usage.
  • Transports products and materials to and from the production area efficiently.
  • Participates in the cleanup of the production environment.
  • Provides assistance to loaders as required.
  • Reports any damage to products or materials to the supervisor.
  • Supports production activities, including labeling, packing, and placing finished products into containers.
  • Ensures all materials are clean and sanitized before distribution.
  • Follows established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintains safe work practices, adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and ensures product quality is upheld. Reports any conditions that may negatively impact food safety or quality.
  • Takes personal responsibility for fostering a safe and healthy workplace for all employees.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards at all times.
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bilingual in Spanish is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
  • Must obtain and maintain a company forklift license; prior forklift experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Competence in basic arithmetic and ability to perform calculations related to American money and measurements.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions in different formats.
  • Exhibits open and honest communication skills.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs safely.
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team based on task requirements.
  • Self-motivated and willing to seek guidance when necessary.
  • Displays responsible behavior in the workplace.
