Position Summary:

This role is essential in ensuring adherence to safety protocols at all times, reinforcing safety as a fundamental value. The operator is responsible for following all policies, procedures, and practices related to food safety and quality, aiming to minimize product and process variability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts a thorough forklift checklist prior to commencing operations.
  • Addresses maintenance issues immediately and informs the supervisor of significant problems.
  • Assists in the setup of the processing area.
  • Ensures proper rotation of egg products to maintain current inventory levels.
  • Transports materials and products to and from the production zone.
  • Participates in the cleaning and organization of the production area.
  • Provides assistance to loaders as required.
  • Reports any damage to products or materials to the supervisor.
  • Supports production tasks including labeling, packing, and placing finished products into containers.
  • Ensures all materials are sanitized before distribution.
  • Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintains safe work practices, follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and ensures sanitary conditions while safeguarding product quality. Reports any unsafe conditions or practices to management.
  • Takes personal responsibility for fostering a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards at all times.
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bilingual in Spanish is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
  • Must obtain and maintain a company forklift license; prior forklift experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations and able to perform calculations related to American money and measurements.
  • Capable of solving practical problems and interpreting various instructions.
  • Exhibits open and honest communication skills.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills and works effectively with others.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs safely.
  • Works well independently or as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and willing to seek guidance when needed.
  • Displays responsible behavior in the workplace.
  • Open to change and adaptable.
  • Ability to work in diverse environmental conditions.
  • Possesses good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
