Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Lead Person to join our team at Michael Foods. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines, maintaining high-quality products, and adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Development: Assist in training processing and production personnel in assigned departments, and assist supervisors with updating training for existing personnel whenever equipment changes are instituted or new procedures are implemented.
  • Work Assignment and Supervision: Assign work tasks to department personnel, and assist with safety audits to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Quality Control: Continuously monitor lines for quality products and notify all appropriate personnel if discrepancies are found.
  • Maintenance and Reporting: Monitor processing equipment on a continual basis to maintain proper production standards, and report and fill out notifications for maintenance issues as they relate to productivity, food safety, quality, and human safety.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Maintain effective working relationships between members of the department and other areas, and encourage suggestions from employees to improve productivity, quality, or control cost of production.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent, with previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Basic computer skills, ability to read and interpret documents, and ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers, or employees, and ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills, with the ability to direct, train, and motivate department personnel. Ability to recognize problem situations, investigate, and take appropriate steps to resolve.
Working Conditions

The Production Lead Person will work in a fast-paced production environment, with exposure to cold, wet, noisy, dusty, and humid conditions. The ability to work independently or with others in a team environment, and to maintain positive interpersonal relationships, is essential.
