Position Overview:

The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology at Kansas State University is seeking to enhance our capabilities in the study of infectious diseases affecting production animals and the interactions between hosts and pathogens. We are looking for a qualified individual to fill a tenure-track or tenured position as an Assistant or Associate Professor specializing in basic and domestic animal immunology. This role encompasses a 12-month appointment with a focus on approximately 70% research, 20% teaching, and 10% service responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will be expected to establish (for Assistant Professor) or sustain (for Associate Professor) a research program funded by external sources, deliver graduate-level courses within the department, contribute to the education of first-year veterinary students, and oversee a core flow cytometry and cell sorting laboratory.

Qualifications Required:

  • Ph.D. in immunology or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the graduate and professional levels in immunology
  • Proven ability to secure extramural funding or maintain an active research agenda

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Strong background in cellular and molecular biology, with research interests aligned with current faculty in areas such as infectious diseases, vaccinology, inflammation, toxicology, cancer, public health, and food safety
