Position Overview:
The Management Analyst undertakes a broad spectrum of analytical tasks to support the department in addressing budgetary, administrative, and managerial challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, assess, and review budgets and expenditures for various programs, projects, grants, and departments; prepare and evaluate personnel actions, agenda items, budget modifications, accounting activities, and other administrative functions; ensure adherence to various City policies and procedures.
- Conduct research, organize, compile, summarize, and analyze data, statistics, and information for special projects, programs, and planning; develop insightful recommendations, document findings, and present evidence-based conclusions; prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to management and other agencies.
- Evaluate, analyze, and report on operations, workflow, and overall work quality; provide statistical analysis of departmental practices and methods; investigate technical transactions and operations to resolve inquiries and validate data; collaborate with multiple departments to offer analysis and recommendations on process improvement initiatives.
- Act as a resource for administrative, operational, and technical staff across various departments; provide direction, guidance, and assistance regarding analytical issues and other asset management concerns; supervise limited staff as necessary.
- Analyze, research, and evaluate current trends and issues affecting the City and its operations; address departmental concerns and challenges arising from evolving trends; perform a wide range of technical, analytical, and general administrative duties.
- Coordinate information and ensure effective communication between departments; clarify and reconcile funds, grants, budgets, and accounting issues and procedures; provide and explain technical and financial information to external agencies and City staff and management.
- Draft, prepare, and submit grant applications for necessary funding; monitor compliance with grant requirements; prepare and present required funding reports and compile reimbursement documents; maintain, manage, organize, and store records required by funding agencies.
- Participate in various meetings, manage customer notifications, and provide ongoing analysis to support the City's goals, objectives, and standards.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Business Computer Systems, or a related field.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in fiscal, administrative, operations, or management analysis, preferably within the public sector.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of principles of program evaluation, organizational planning, research design, and analysis.
- Familiarity with principles of record keeping, case files, and records management.
- Knowledge of project and grant management.
- Proficiency in mathematical computations, statistical analysis, government accounting, and budget administration.
- Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.
- Capacity to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
- Skill in troubleshooting and implementing technical solutions.
- Aptitude for analyzing problems, identifying solutions, and recommending techniques for resolution.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Salary Range:
$60,000 - $75,672.99
