Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Horticulture Instructor to join our team at Foothill De Anza Community College District. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching horticulture courses and contributing to the development of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach horticulture courses, including landscape design, landscape construction, fine gardening, and plant production.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with industry standards and best practices.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to improve student outcomes.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in horticulture education or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of horticultural principles and concepts.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in sustainable landscaping, plant identification, turf management, floral design, irrigation, and viticulture or pest management.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends if necessary.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in an indoor office environment and will be required to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time.
