Job Summary

Foothill De Anza Community College District is seeking a qualified Part-Time Horticulture Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching horticulture courses and contributing to the development of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach horticulture courses, including lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the college's goals and objectives.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching and/or industry experience in horticulture.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field.
  • Experience in landscape design, landscape construction, fine gardening, or landscape maintenance.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends if necessary.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in an indoor office environment with occasional travel to off-campus locations. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods, as well as lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.
