Benefits Intern Job Description
The Benefits Intern will assist the Benefits team in processing, reporting, auditing, and customer service support in benefits administration. This role is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a backup to the Benefits team for employee questions and issues, working with the team to resolve them.
- Provide general benefits administration support, including opening mail, filing, and assisting with the annual open enrollment process and employee benefit changes.
- Perform data entry for all benefit-related activities, including enrollments and changes into the HRIS system.
- Support the Benefits team to ensure federal and state compliance.
- Perform audits in benefits systems.
- Coordinate with the Benefits team during open enrollment to ensure a smooth enrollment process for all employees.
- Maintain and administer the employee recognition program.
- Maintain accurate administrative and employee medical files.
- Pull reports as needed.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as business needs dictate.
Requirements:
- Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to work together with others to achieve group goals.
- Effective planning and priority setting.
