About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Aide to join our team at Balfour Senior Living. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with licensed nurses to deliver high-quality care and service to residents
  • Administer medications as prescribed by residents' physicians and document administration, effectiveness, and any adverse actions or side effects
  • Obtain and record residents' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure
  • Report changes in residents' conditions to staff nurses and provide essential nursing care to support daily living needs
  • Adhere to and reinforce proper infection control measures
  • Partner with Life Enrichment to provide companionship, stimulation, and engagement to residents
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks and perform departmental organizational tasks
Requirements
  • Current certification as a Medication Aide with prior CNA certification from the State of Colorado
  • Talent for interacting with a wide variety of people, particularly the elderly and their family members
  • Ability to provide a high level of compassion and care for elderly residents
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a care partner for the elderly and memory-impaired individuals
  • Customer service experience
Working Conditions

The ability to walk the duration of your shift, manual dexterity, and ability to lift and/or carry 50-75 pounds are required. You may be exposed to unpleasant odors, contagious diseases, and blood-borne pathogens. Balfour is a pet-friendly community, and you may be exposed to animal hair and dander.
