Position Overview:
The African Studies Institute is in search of a dedicated Lecturer specializing in Islamic Studies.

Role Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Islamic traditions, with the flexibility to engage with various geographic regions. A strong preference will be given to those who can demonstrate proficiency in at least one other religious tradition.

Academic Contributions:
We are looking for a scholar who can enhance our existing programs in gender studies, ethnic studies, or interdisciplinary studies. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching courses in their area of expertise as well as thematic topics related to the study of religion within the General Education curriculum. Additionally, maintaining an active research agenda and participating in departmental and university service is expected.

Essential Qualifications:
A PhD in Religious Studies or a closely related field is required by the commencement of the position. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching undergraduates from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds, including first-generation students.
