Established by the Grimm Family Education Foundation, Grow Public Schools commenced operations in 2011, prioritizing health and wellness at Grow Academy in Arvin, California. The institution features a distinctive blended learning approach, integrating music programs, physical education, and an Edible Schoolyard initiative.

Currently, Grow Public Schools (GPS) functions as a Charter Management Organization overseeing the operations of Grow Academy in Arvin and Shafter, catering to over 800 students from TK-8 grades. The organization is committed to closing the opportunity gap in underserved communities.

Position Summary: Educators at Grow Public Schools are responsible for cultivating engaging classroom settings that promote student development and achievement while addressing individual health and wellness requirements. They are tasked with designing and executing standards-aligned lesson plans, collaborating with peers, and striving towards collective school objectives under the guidance of the principal.

Key Responsibilities:Implement the Grow Public Schools Units of Study and instructional resources.Develop integrated lessons in accordance with state standards.Differentiate instructional plans to accommodate diverse learners.Engage in coaching sessions and hands-on learning experiences.Encourage a college-bound culture within the classroom.Collaborate with colleagues to support Individualized Learning Plans.Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.Apply Positive Behavior Intervention and Support strategies.Deliver Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum to promote student wellness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • California state teaching credential with English Learner Authorization.
  • Strong skills in classroom management, planning, and technology.
  • Bilingual abilities are advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

The role involves various physical demands, including effective communication and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

This position is conducted in-person at educational facilities in Kern County, with occasional travel to other locations.
