Pharmacy Technician I/II

Duke University is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician I/II to join our team at Duke Regional Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, dispensing, and distribution
- Restock automated dispensing cabinets and anesthesia workstations
- Answer and screen telephone calls, directing them to appropriate personnel as needed
- Handle medications in accordance with department, regulatory, and legal requirements
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team, insurance companies, and customers to resolve issues and ensure accuracy
- Assist with basic clinical functions in support of the clinical pharmacist
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program
- Registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within the first 180 days
- Pharmacy Technician certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or The Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)
