Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician I/II to join our team at Duke Regional Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring the efficient operation of our pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities- Process prescriptions and medications accurately and efficiently
- Restock automatic dispensing cabinets as needed
- Answer and screen telephone calls, directing them to appropriate personnel when necessary
- Handle medications in accordance with department, regulatory, and legal requirements
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team, insurance companies, and customers to resolve issues and ensure timely resolution of medication or insurance-related concerns
- Assist with basic clinical functions in support of the clinical pharmacist
- Operate and maintain specialty machinery, equipment, devices, or software necessary for job functions
- Deliver medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas
- Complete and document all assigned safety and quality activities in compliance with department procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program
- Acceptance into pharmacy school or high school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or healthcare-related experience
- Registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within the first 180 days
- Pharmacy Technician certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or The Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)
