About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at the State of Indiana. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our housekeeping department, ensuring that our facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate housekeeping schedules and staff assignments to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations.
  • Establish and maintain work rules and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate temporary services for additional manpower as needed.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for cleaning materials and equipment.
  • Procure and purchase materials and supplies from vendors.
  • Prepare and submit various reports and records related to housekeeping operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Prepare and coordinate work requests for repairs and maintenance.
  • Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Set expectations, measure progress, provide feedback, and evaluate employee performance to ensure high-quality work and adherence to quality standards.
Requirements
  • Must hold and maintain a valid Indiana driver's license.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the public, contract workers, co-workers, subordinates, and supervisors.
  • Thorough knowledge of housekeeping methods, procedures, materials, equipment, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.
  • Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets.
  • Ability to conduct inspections of facilities.
  • Ability to make reports and maintain records and files.
  • Ability to inventory supplies and equipment.
