Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Office Receptionist/Verification Specialist to join our team at Progressive Pain and Rehabilitation. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, verifying patient information, and ensuring seamless communication between patients, physicians, and hospital personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and clinical data into our EMR software system with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Utilize professional telephone techniques and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain rapport with patients, physicians, and hospital personnel.
  • Communicate effectively with other Patient Access Services areas, Utilization Review, and other departments to resolve issues and obtain necessary information.
  • Perform insurance eligibility checks for patients scheduled in clinic and collaborate with the billing manager to ensure financial requirements are met.
  • Referral and scheduling coordination, including faxing referrals and scheduling appointments for surgery or in-clinic visits.
  • Gather medical records to obtain prior authorizations for procedures performed in-office before patient visits.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology is essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of surgery procedure scheduling is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office setting is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills is highly required.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required; additional medical certifications are highly valued.
