Exciting Opportunity at MSK:


As a Medical Assistant, you will be an integral part of the patient care team within the outpatient oncology environment, collaborating closely with healthcare providers, nursing staff, and administrative personnel to ensure an outstanding patient experience.


Role Responsibilities:


Your contributions will be vital in delivering superior patient care and facilitating the efficient operation of our clinical practice.

This role encompasses a dynamic combination of clinical and administrative tasks, including patient assistance, vital sign monitoring, preparation for and support during medical procedures, and management of patient flow.


Essential Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and relevant specialized certifications.

Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or registration with a recognized credentialing organization, or eligibility for certification within six months of employment.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
Exemplary organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Basic proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email platforms.
Prior experience in a medical assistant capacity within an outpatient setting is preferred.
Familiarity with OSHA standards and multi-specialty experience in a high-volume environment is advantageous.

Core Competencies:

Clinical Expertise:
Skilled in taking vital signs, performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), assisting with physical examinations and procedures, and managing patient specimens. Capable of responding to medical emergencies and conducting point-of-care tests in accordance with established protocols.

Patient Care:


Ability to prepare and assist patients for visits and procedures, manage patient flow, and maintain effective communication with patients and healthcare providers.


Administrative Proficiency:


Competent in tracking patient flow, documenting patient interactions, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation in line with regulatory and organizational policies.


Safety and Infection Control:


Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, maintain cleanliness in patient care environments, and effectively manage personal protective equipment and hygiene products.


Technical Skills:


Basic computer skills, including proficiency with EMR systems (Epic preferred), and the ability to manage electronic documentation and communication tools.
