Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Client Service Specialist to join our Anatomic Pathology team at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a key member of our laboratory outreach team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional client service, ensuring seamless specimen processing, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and accurate client communication, resolving issues and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Process and verify specimens, ensuring compliance with laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient specimen processing and timely results.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, utilizing laboratory information systems to track specimen status and client interactions.
  • Collaborate with the courier team to ensure smooth and timely operations.
  • Prepare and package specimens for shipping, adhering to regulatory requirements and laboratory protocols.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, life sciences, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge and ability to handle and prepare various laboratory specimen types.
  • Proficiency in laboratory information systems and automated equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
