We are seeking a skilled financial professional to join our Accounting and Finance Team. The Staff Accountant will possess a solid background in accounting and demonstrate a willingness to assist with various tasks, including accounts payable processing, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.

This role is essential in maintaining the financial integrity of CityTeam, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources. Our ideal candidate will excel in customer service, manage conflicts with grace, and embody a servant's heart.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Accounting Manager during the month-end closing process.
  • Prepare assigned journal entries.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, investment accounts, and other balance sheet accounts as designated.
  • Reconcile and allocate specific revenues and expenses as required.
  • Process and record cash receipts from program fees and other income sources.
  • Review and authorize accounts payable transactions, including invoices, check requests, and expense reports.
  • Ensure all payment remittances are properly approved and accurately coded.
  • Confirm that W-9 forms are on file for independent contractors.
  • Issue stop payments and process voids as necessary.
  • Prepare Form 1099s and related remittances as needed.
  • Assist with various general accounting tasks, such as managing electronic files, maintaining account lists, and filing necessary statements and permits.
  • Contribute to the annual audit process by preparing audit confirmations and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with the annual budget process as requested.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all stakeholders.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of walking, bending, kneeling, and twisting.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and auditory.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of items up to 20 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools and controls, with the ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision capabilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

  • A 2-year or 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with 10-Key.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Non-Profit GAAP.

Work Environment

  • This position operates in a dynamic and professional office setting.
  • Standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and photocopiers, will be utilized.
  • Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts.
