Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting:
    Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Job Cost Accounting:
    Manage job cost accounting for various construction projects, ensuring accuracy in tracking costs, revenue, and profitability.
  • General Ledger Management:
    Oversee the general ledger, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
    Assist in the development of company budgets and forecasts; provide variance analysis.
  • AP/AR Oversight:
    Ensure accurate management of accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processes.
  • Compliance:
    Ensure adherence to company policies, local regulations, and construction contract accounting standards.
  • Financial Analysis:
    Perform financial analysis to support decision-making, including cost analysis, cash flow projections, and profitability assessments.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with project managers, senior leadership, and other departments to provide accurate financial insights and support project success.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a Senior Accountant or similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, and project accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
