Job Overview

Position Title: Senior Program Operations Manager

Location: Hybrid work environment with a mix of in-person and remote responsibilities.

Employment Type: Full-time, with occasional evening and weekend commitments.

Classification: Exempt

Compensation: Annual salary range of $90,000 - $105,000, based on qualifications and experience.

Reporting To: Executive Director

Comprehensive Benefits: Includes fully covered medical and dental insurance for employees and their dependents, a 3% employer-matched retirement plan, 12 vacation days, 10 sick days, and 12 holidays.

Position Summary: CAIR-LA is on the lookout for a skilled and motivated individual to take on the role of Senior Program Operations Manager. This key position will assist the Development Director in overseeing management and technological aspects related to grants. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in furthering CAIR's mission and advocating for the civil rights and welfare of the American-Muslim community in the Greater Los Angeles Area. Responsibilities will include providing strategic oversight, fundraising management, and effective coordination to ensure the success of the organization's programs.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Oversight:

  • Offer strategic direction and leadership for the Programs team.
  • Supervise and guide department directors and managers, ensuring alignment with CAIR's mission and objectives.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive work plans, objectives, and performance metrics for various programs.
  • Assist in the hiring process, budget formulation, and fundraising efforts.
  • Represent CAIR-LA at conferences, events, and meetings as part of the leadership team.

Program Management:

  • Direct and support the effective operation of CAIR's programs, ensuring high-quality service delivery and meaningful outcomes.
  • Guide the programs team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of program activities.
  • Support fundraising efforts, resource allocation, and budget management to meet community needs and program objectives.
  • Maintain strategic partnerships with government officials, funders, and key community stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • 5-7 years of experience in program management, advocacy, or related fields.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in team management within the nonprofit, government, legal, or similar sectors.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, with a proven ability to supervise and mentor a diverse team.
  • Strong understanding of civil rights issues, particularly those impacting the American-Muslim community.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and media engagement.
  • Experience in managing digital and print content creation, with a basic understanding of graphic design and publishing.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and marketing strategies.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, project management, and budget oversight.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including community members, partner organizations, and policymakers.
  • A commitment to social justice, civil liberties, and the promotion of equality and inclusivity.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant applications such as SharePoint, Office365, OneDrive, and case management software is preferred.
  • Access to reliable transportation for attending meetings and events across various locations.
