Ohel Children's Home and Family Services is seeking a Peer Specialist to provide person-centered planning and delivery of services to older adults in their home. The Peer Specialist will have lived experience utilizing mental health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor individuals diagnosed with mental health disorders by providing supportive and skills-building services with a rehabilitation and recovery focus.
- Provide face-to-face services to assist connecting individuals to community-based recovery supports consistent with their treatment plan.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with the program's policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate organizational and communication skills to enable effective interaction with fellow team members, individuals/clients/families, and the community.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of best practices of Motivational Interviewing, WRAP, etc.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certified by OMH or OASAS as a Peer Specialist with experience working with behavioral health populations.
Work Environment:
This part-time position is based in Brooklyn and Staten Island.
