Job Summary

We are seeking a Peer Counselor to join our Mobile Residential Team. The successful candidate will provide direct services to clients, including teaching skills, delivering concrete services, and providing counseling. The Peer Counselor will work closely with clients to identify their goals and develop strategies to achieve them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care services to clients, including teaching skills and delivering concrete services.
  • Document client progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Facilitate support and educational groups for clients.
  • Educate staff about peer perspective, person-centered language, rights and protections, and alternatives.
  • Assist clients in identifying their options and participating in decisions related to establishing and achieving goals.
  • Provide rehabilitative support services in daily living skills, health services, and other areas as assigned.
  • Participate in program meetings and attend supervision regularly.
  • Accompany clients to appointments as needed to provide additional support and understanding.
  • Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma and Peer Support Credentials.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Familiarity with benefits and entitlements.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and guide others through the self-help process.
  • Experience with travel training, facilitating peer support and educational groups, and assisting others with ADL skills.
