Desktop Support Analyst
The Desktop Support Analyst plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders, aligning with our mission, vision, and core values. This position involves addressing user inquiries, diagnosing issues with IT equipment and applications, and facilitating resolutions. Collaboration with other IT personnel is essential for tasks that extend beyond individual expertise. A successful Desktop Support Analyst must effectively balance creative and technical problem-solving, customer service, and teamwork to ensure that all personnel can access and utilize necessary software and resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and problem resolution for desktop hardware and applications across the organization.
- Document detailed service requests, including the nature of the technical assistance provided and the individuals involved.
- Serve as the primary contact for all computer and system-related inquiries from clients and staff.
- Troubleshoot both virtual and physical desktop issues.
- Execute hands-on repairs at the desktop level, including software and hardware installations and upgrades.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting for network connectivity and user login issues.
- Escalate complex issues when necessary, ensuring all relevant documentation is attached to the help desk request.
- Engage in the design, testing, and implementation of new products and services to enhance credit union offerings.
- Install, modify, and maintain software and hardware at the desktop level.
- Timely patching of desktop software, including applications like Adobe and video conferencing tools.
- Utilize PC deployment tools for imaging new computers and managing software installations.
- Monitor and support the credit union's network servers.
- Maintain network asset management, including documentation and specifications of network components.
- Assist in the upkeep of credit union network servers and hardware.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field, coupled with two years of experience in desktop support and configuration.
- Experience in a financial institution is advantageous.
- Ability to perform under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with government and financial regulatory reporting requirements.
- Understanding of the credit union's disaster recovery plan and its implementation.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in performing general maintenance on computer hardware.
- Experience with client/server applications, particularly in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
