Job Overview

Desktop Support Analyst

The Desktop Support Analyst plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders, aligning with our core mission and values. Collaboration with other IT personnel is essential for tasks beyond individual expertise. A successful Desktop Support Analyst must effectively blend creative and technical problem-solving skills with customer service and teamwork to ensure all personnel can efficiently access and utilize necessary software and resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance for desktop hardware and software issues for all technology users.
  • Document detailed service requests, including actions taken and involved personnel.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all computer and system-related inquiries from clients and staff.
  • Troubleshoot both virtual and physical desktop issues.
  • Conduct hands-on repairs at the desktop level, including software and hardware installations and upgrades.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for network connectivity and user login issues.
  • Escalate unresolved issues as necessary, ensuring proper documentation is attached to help desk requests.
  • Engage in the design, testing, and implementation of new products and services to enhance credit union offerings.
  • Install, modify, and maintain all desktop-level software and hardware.
  • Timely patching of desktop software, including essential applications.
  • Utilize deployment tools for imaging new computers and managing software installations.
  • Support and monitor credit union network servers.
  • Manage network assets, including documentation and technical specifications.
  • Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of network servers and hardware.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field, along with two years of experience in desktop support.
  • Experience in a financial institution is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and adjust priorities as necessary.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Understanding of disaster recovery plans and their implementation.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Capability to perform general maintenance on computer hardware.
  • Experience with client/server applications on Microsoft Windows desktop.
  • Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
